Opening for the 2025-2026 School Year

Our Mission

Ateres seeks to reach the entire בת ישראל. The atmosphere will pulsate with a spirit of שמחת החיים and יראת שמים modeled by a staff of exemplary mechanchos. Relevant lessons and programming at Ateres will embrace the talmidah’s full experience, inspiring her heart while engaging her mind. Middos tovos are a central focus of Ateres, which will be developed throughout the classroom, hallways, schoolwide themes, and ימי עיון. Ateres will foster a culture of collaboration in which the talmidah can feel heard, supported and understood. Ateres will cultivate the confidence, tools and wholesome environment for today’s talmidah to take pride in her identity as a bas yisrael.

Our Menaheles

Mrs. Rochel Froehlich brings her years of chinuch and educational experience to the hanhala of Ateres. She comes with a decade of administrative experience at Shevach High School, where she developed curricula and extracurricular programming. Her classes are noted for their vibrant and engaging style that conveys a passionate and relevant השקפת התורה

Mrs. Froehlich collaborated with the team that founded and developed Camp Menucha, bringing her unique blend of enthusiasm and meaning to create an inspiring and exciting camp experience for teens from across the country. Her 15-year career in speech pathology provides her with insight into early child development and in fostering healthy and open communication. Mrs. Froehlich counts Rebbitzen David ע”ה of BJJ, Morah Rochel Blau, and Mrs. Shani Herzka as seminal influences and models for true Torah chinuch. She runs vaadim for post-seminary girls where they can explore their world from a Torah lens in an open and accepting environment.

To round out the full spectrum of chinuch experience, Mrs. Froehlich is a trained kallah teacher who guides young women to the chuppa and advises them through their first years of marriage. She is married to Rav Eliezer Froehlich שליט”א, a Baltimore native who returns to Baltimore after leading kollelim in Woodmere and Queens.

FAQ

What academic standard is the school setting?
Ateres seeks to meet every talmidah at her level and spark their growth to where she can reach. As the school grows, we will implement programs and projects that will challenge the talmidah to learn and retain information. Ateres believes that hard work resulting in accomplishment breeds self-actualization and a deep satisfaction, contributing to a life-long love of learning and Ahavas Torah. The goal of Ateres is keilim to think for herself and apply the life-lessons she internalized in school to any situation she faces in adult life.

Ateres will fill the hearts and minds of the talmidos to the brim with maamarei chazal and Pesukim that will become part of the girls’ language. We will incorporate cumulative tests throughout elementary school so that they develop a mastery of the material. Additionally, the curriculum will be a building continuum that will reach identified thresholds of knowledge and skills at each grade level.
Ateres is open to all who are looking for Ateres. We are here to service all in the community who find that Ateres’ message resonates with them and is in consonance with their family’s values.
Ateres is committed to creating a program that is seamlessly wholesome. That means a program where the general studies continue to reflect the values learned in limudei Kodesh. “בכל דרכיך דעהו”

In this vein, Ateres will screen all books, handouts, and media that is shown to the talmidos. This includes unacceptable language as well as ideas and attitudes that are not congruent with those of an Ateres bas Yisroel.
As in all areas, Ateres chinuch is predicated on a partnership and meeting of minds between the school and the home. We are not one type of Yid in the home and another in school or in the street. Ateres recognizes that gedolei Yisroel have identified the portals of technology into our homes and minds as a challenge, perhaps the challenge of our times.

Ateres sees the modeling of proper gedarim and shemira as a key linchpin of our talmidos’ chinuch. The standards that are imparted to the talmidos will be consistent with what they experience in the school environment.

Ateres sees delaying of access to technology as a valuable tool in gaining mastery over technology use. This mitigates the development of bad habits, as well as introducing the devices when the maturing adult is better equipped to make good decisions.

Ateres standards will be in keeping with the accepted standards of Batei Chinuch for girls across the country. The hanhala has seen the detrimental impact on students from internet exposure to indecency, vicarious trauma, and misinformation. More subtly, texting has degraded and depersonalized the human side of human interaction and stunted the growth of our youth.
Ateres chinuch is a partnership between the talmidos, the parents, and the mechanchos. Together, we will impart the specialness of being and becoming a bas Yisroel. Children and teens crave structure and predictable, consistent expectations. They have a knack for noticing double standards. We therefore welcome the homes of our talmidos to join with us in modeling exemplary tznius and applauding their daughters as they make good choices in a confusing world.

Ateres always keeps the long-term effect in the sights. “גם כי יזקין לא יסור ממנה”. In terms of tznius, this means that talmidos will be involved in school programming and acculturated to a lifetime of refined sensitivity. Through song, dance, discussions, and truly open listening, the Ateres talmidos will appreciate the beauty and importance of tznius. An Ateres talmidah will know what is tzu gepast even when she is no longer in an Ateres uniform.

All Ateres staff will model an appealing and elevated tznius that talmidos will want to emulate. The standards will be those of batei chinuch for girls across the country, but, more importantly, the talmidos will be aware of the expectations and how it is part of their personal identity and pride.
